Green and Solar Powered Stadiums Around The World

Have you been hearing about the solar powered stadiums that are being used around the world? These are not only neat but they do the environment a big favor. Phoenix solar as well as Arizona solar in general is really starting to make some big moves with the introduction of the solar powered stadium that the Arizona Cardinals are playing in starting in 2010-2011 football season. This is an amazing move that will serve as a role model for other stadiums around the world. If you are someone who lives near the football stadium in Arizona then here are a few extra things that you might here the fans cheering about this season.

The University of Phoenix has teamed up with SRP to provide the Cardinal’s football stadium with over 1 million kilowatts of renewable energy. If you are someone who gets confused about how kilowatts, megawatts, and all of the other watts, then let me put it in terms that are a little easier to understand. That is enough energy to fuel 60 homes! Not only is it enough to fuel those homes for one day but it is enough to fuel them for an entire year! Now that’s something to cheer about!

Unless you have been living under a rock you are probably familiar with the benefits of solar energy and the effects that green power have on the environment. Phoenix solar is making some big moves with the help of celebrity sports stars such as Steve Nash and others, and Arizona solar is making some big moves altogether thanks to the abundance of sun that shines in the state. There are stadiums all over the world that are already benefiting the way the Cardinals are, and there will be several other stadiums to follow. Hopefully one day all of the stadiums in the world will be fueled by solar power and green energy.
