  1. Derby County owe HMRC £26m. How many "proper" businesses would get away with running up that sort of debt ?
It is alleged that Forest tried to buy a Derby player last week but the Administrator refused to sanction the sale because the club did not want to sell a player to their biggest rival. So creditors owed money by DCFC may suffer because they don't want to sell a player to a rival……and if the club goes bust the player can leave on free transfers.

  2. I know this will get a few unwanted responses but ….derby situation could have be avoided if they had gone down ……who says that they wouldn't have bounced straight back up ……they dug there hole they should pay up for what's happend …..yes I'm a wycombe wanderers fan but …..this is Derby fault and should pay for mistakes ok it will be a shame to see them go bust and wouldn't wish it on any club but it's gone on long enough

  3. I'm a Bury fan and that's the first time since our murder have I fully understood what happened to us. We're on our way back now albeit at the lowest level possible, they tried to kill us but we wouldn't die. Don't give up Derby. Up The Shakers!!

  4. I'm a Sunderland fan… The way our club is going atm I can see this happening with us….. All the old boys of English football seem to be going extinct because of money greedy business men who aren't even football fans wanna buy players like Rory delap for 100 billion because he can throw a long ball into a box but can't kick one to save his life…. Wishing Derby fans all the best rams we're a great club deserved so much more…

  5. Burnley could be in trouble in a few years if they get relegated this season. It is ridiculous how that club was allowed to be purchased in a leverage deal.
Good luck to Derby. Gary is correct in what he says here.

  6. The fact is potential owners should not be allowed ti buy clubs ig they have to borrow money and incur debt to do so. That should be one of the most basic things. If the owner has to borrow all the money to buy the club then they clearly do not have the funds to assist in sustaining the club. No club should be brought on debt money.

  7. I have NOTHING against Derby, but why should they be saved not Bury or any of the others that have gone into admin? And what is to stop reckless owners in the future, from overspending knowing their club will be bailed out no matter what.

  8. As a Notts lad, I really hope that derby pull through, so much of my life has been dominated by the passion the forest fans had every time Derby was the next fixture and although Forest fans will be able to laugh ultimately they will lose their biggest rivalry and I think that'll be a dark day hidden as a good day for them

  9. He's right, football clubs aren't like any other business, they're a cornerstone in their local communities and need protection from unscrupulous financial practices.
