Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked by Tottenham just four months after being appointed as head coach.

Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League, 10 points off leaders Chelsea, after the 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

Nuno, 47, signed a two-year contract in June following a protracted search to find Jose Mourinho’s successor.

  1. The only coach I ever felt bad for when he got fired because I didn’t care for Nuno the coach but Nuno the person made me feel bad for his sacking because I couldn’t imagine him having to tell his wife and family he’s out of a job

  2. Nuno's Mistake was bringing in Harry Kane…Spurs were doing OK without him!!! I think he was pressured into playing him!! Nuno is a good manager, he will get his chance to prove himself when he gets the support that he needs!!

  3. When Jose left, the WHOLE of spurs players start rebelling. Sacking of Mourinho was nothing but utter disgrace. He was building a formidable team from the back. Spurs always had defensive problems.

  4. Nuno looked confident and full of belief at Wolves but also respectful of his fellow managers. He coached a team that the top teams didn't want to face. I am no expert but when people speak of Nuno playing reactive /counter attacking football, I say its an unfair characterization. It takes insane money to create a team capable of wrapping itself around opponents and suffocating them for 90mins. Based on that, almost every team must soak up the pressure when it needs to. I appreciate he wanted a new challenge. Hopefully he won't be out of coaching for long. Good luck Nuno.
