Watch the BBC first on iPlayer ? A sports pundit gives a vitriolic rant about football and why we should all watch it in this spoof advert.
David Mitchell and Robert Webb score a goal with a second series of their distinctively daft BAFTA-winning comedy, That Mitchell And Webb Look on BBC Two. There’s a chance to learn the ancient art of padlock folding or Padlockigami. A man gets a little too excited about football. There’s a staffing problem in an innuendo-ridden 70s hospital. Sir Digby Chicken Caesar goes on another rip-roaring adventure. And some stone-age technophobes are sceptical about bronze.

Anyone else getting really hyped to watch the football
who will win the Football?
“Making them both seem normal sized” ?
The lines "Presumably massively mattering to someone" and "ITS GOING TO MOVE" accurately sums up my entire childhood opinion of my dad's various sports shows.
This feels like a David Mitchell panel show rant, adapted into a sketch.
This is such an accurate take on those sport ads. I just had one of those football ads pop up, telling me that 'every moment matters'. Yeah, presumably to someone.
My fantasy has always been a huge arena where every football team could play at the same time, and every football fan could be there to watch. I would then drop a nuclear weapon on the whole damn lot.
"In a match already being described as 'on this Sunday'."
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Fox soccer in a nutshell.
They did a great job of rein-acting a typical late 90s early 2000s sky sports advert about FOOTBALL!
It's all the football all the time. Something your wife loves to hear.
I can't wait to see the Giants of Charlton play the Titans of Ipswitch. Sounds like an important game.
Has to be one of the best Mitchell and Webb Look clips. Seriously underrated show
The upcoming Champions League format in a nutshell
Watch it, it's going to mooooove xD
The creepy way David says "And Forever to Play it in" is creepily familiar…..
I wonder if since foot ball became popular….what math is for… has there been a moment when it has not been kicked by someone on the planet? Someone playing at all times somewhere?
That's exactly the image americans have of those who watch football (soccer)
Spot on ???????
probably in top 20 of best uk scenes, it really is monty python calibre, i laugh everytime.
Mattering to someone, presumably. ??
"Watch it! It's gonna move!"
Rumour has it that 14 years later, David Mitchell is still furiously pacing round that football pitch.
Well.. just another Sky Sports video promoting weekly football matches.
I feel like a simpleton now
My personal favourite has to be
"The giants of Charlton meet the titans of Ipswich, making them both seem normal sized"
You know David wrote this…
I miss my Daddy?
I think FIFA must have seen this…
"There is still everything to play for, and FOREVER TO PLAY IT IN"
The funniest thing about this is the idea that Sky Sports actually ever televises any football…
He carries the energy of a sports announcer with the self-awareness of a comedian. Love it
Brilliant as this is, it's also razor-sharp editing
Here comes the CLOT SHOT!
Whoever edited this sketch deserved a pay rise
This is exactly how football seems to me
Why would he share
I can't believe Daddy
I love both football and this. It's perfectly pitched, even now
Rewatching this after the episode of Taskmaster, where his wife tried to give Alan Davies a season ticket for Man Utd, knowing that he supports "The Arsenal".
Shrewsbury’s not even in the North West ???
This has to be my favourite sketch of theirs and one of my favourite sketches ever.
"it's gonna move!"
