  1. Seems like the next hottest assistant coaches in the country tend to be the next great head coaches. We've all been lied to and sold nonsense that when a coach is great somewhere else that means he'll be great at another program and yet all that happens is that hot coach goes to another program and fails. Happens every single time. Take out Urban Meyer and there are no other examples of a great coach who builds a great program at one school, then immediately goes to another school and builds another great program. It doesn't exist! Sure you may be able to point out an example or two that contradicts this concept but in general it tends to be pretty accurate. So I say we look towards who the next great assistant coach is to be our next hire. And of course there's no guarantee that guy will be great, but every next great head coach tends to be a guy who was the hottest assistant right before immediately becoming a head coach. That's our best bet!

  2. Guys we need to hire the next hottest assistant coach in the country. For some reason that is actually the formula for success that turns programs great. Bo Pelini at Nebraska, Mario Cristobal at Oregon, Jimbo Fisher at FSU (not A&M), Kirby Smart at UGA, Lincoln Riley at OU (not USC), Scott Frost at UCF (not Nebraska), Ryan Day, a lot of Nick Saban's assistances, Dabo Swinney, Frank Solich at Nebraska (not Ohio), Tom Osborne, and the list goes on and on. What happens every time we hire a coach with head coaching experience? We've gotten Mike Riley, Bill Callahan, and now Scott Frost. So we can fix this now that we know what the problem is!
