  1. Race for Golden Boot:
    Messi, ARG (5, 3)
    Mbappe', FRA (5, 2)
    Giroud, FRA (4)
    Alvarez, ARG (4)

Usually awarded to the Highest goal scorer in FIFA world cup.
However, if there is a TIE then the number of successful assists are also seen, in which case Messi has 3 assists with 5 goals and Mbappe has 2 assists with 5 goals .

If that too ties, then 3 additional parameters are used – "number of minutes played", "quality of goals" and "degree of difficulty " are looked at while scoring the goals as well as the "impact it had for the team".

If there is a TIE between for example Messi & Mbappe' Golden Boot should go to Mbappe' simply bcoz Mbappe played less minutes than Messi (Mbappe came as substitute for 1 match much later).

Also, 3 out of 5 Messi's goals came from penalty kicks in matches against KSA, NED, CRO),

If you analyze the goals carefully, Mbappe's (5) and Alvarez's (4) goals were of highest quality, followed by Giroud and then Messi.

Hence, it teams of quality of goals highest being first , lowest being last:
    Mbappe (5)
    Alvarez (4)
    Giroud (4)
    Messi (5)

If Messi scores more than the other 3, he will win although 3 of his 5 goals have come from penalty kicks, but in case of TIE based on goals & assists, I think it would be unfair to give Messi Golden Boot in my opinion.

The twist is if both Alvarez and Giroud score 1 goal each resulting in 4 way TIE on number of goals or either of them score 2 goals leaving both Mbappe or Messi out of the race !!

  2. Messi has got the cleverest football . He could do more years with that style . He walks half the game and only goes on runs when he sees an opportunity. I wouldn't underestimate the Argentine side . They close players down in packs for the full 90 .

  3. The WC is rigged -'5 penalties in 6 games and I’m meant to believe this isn’t rigged'
🗣 'No VAR checks as long as Messi is going to take the penalty'
🗣 'Funny that some people still don’t believe it'

  4. Surely there’s more than 2 on the list. Amrabat, Griezmann, gvardiol, messi, Mbappe. Think they all deserve a shout. I’m probably missing a couple. Giroud could even warrant a mention. What’s great though is it’s been an outstanding World Cup despite all the liberal virtue weaponising that preceded it.

  5. Griezman has put in more all-round performances than Messi or Mbappe.

But of course thats not good for FIFA's marketing lol

For one Messi has been far better than Mbappe. But Messi is nowhere near the player of the tournament.

  6. Kylian Mbappe by the end of his career would’ve surpassed anything Messi or Ronaldo have achieved. Once those CLs start rolling in, along with his World Cup success, there will be no comparisons…….we are looking at Pele with lightning speed. An unbelievable player, earning unbelievable money Messi and Ronaldo could dream of. Wow

  7. Always providing fake stats. Typical Sky sports. Messi scored 4 goals in Ucl, 7 Goals in Liga, 1 goal in Super cup final. That makes 12 Goals.and also he is having 10+4 assists in liga and ucl.
