In recent days, the Blaugranas bosses sent letters to Gerard Pique, Sergi Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba. In them, President Joan Laporta asked players to accept a 40% cut in revenues until the end of next season.
However, the agents are against it and consider Barça’s demands a clear overkill, writes the newspaper El Periódico de Catalunya.
There is no choice though. The Catalans need to be sure to fit into La Liga salary limits in order to register newcomers and approve Lionel Messi’s update ahead of the 21/22 season. In case Piquet, Busquets, Roberto and Alba continue to resist, they will have to be sold and then all sides will have difficulties later on.
